My Ideal Everyone has his own ideal. The ideal may be a desire to produce power and rank from a selfish motive. It may also be a desire to do something good to our society. The ideal I set for my life is to be a scientist. This ideal resulted from my knowledge about scientists and science. When I was a junior middle school student I read a lot of books about scientists and inventors such as Edison, Bell, etc. and I was greatly inspired by their achievements. By and by I knew that the progress of mankind was brought about by compasses, printing, seismographs, steam engines, computers, rockets, spacecrafts, and that science was to man's civilization what water was to fish. I believe that science was a great force to push our society forward and that if a person made contributions to science, his or her life was worthwhile. Now I'm determined to devote my whole life to science. I will work hard to reach the peak of science. |
