'200 bags, 150 pairs of shoes, and 11 wardrobes... but I'm no shopaholic!'

MANDY'S STORY

MANDY Tyler insists that she is no shopaholic... but she does have 200 bags and 150 pairs of shoes.

"Well I hang on to everything I buy and things do come round again-I've got a lovely jump suit which is about 14 years old which I'm going to start wearing again soon," said mum-of-two Mandy, 48, of Pontyclun.

So although Mandy claims to only go clothes shopping once a fortnight, she does have a total of 11 wardrobes packed with her clothes, shoes and handbags at her home in Llanharry, where she lives with her husband Peter.

"I go for classics and then I look after them and hang on to them," she said.

Mandy's favourite shop is her local TK Maxxin Talbot Green where she loves to search for designer bargains.

"I would rather spend an hour searching through the rails at TK Maxx then go to three or four other different shops," she said.

"I am a buyer not a looker - if I go out shopping then I will always come home with something.

"If I'm buying an outfit for an occasion then I like to get new shoes and a bag to match.

"I like to wear different clothes - I run Weight- Watchers classes and the ladies who come to me say that they never see me in the same outfit twice.

"I love going out clothes and I really enjoy looking for that perfect outfit for any occasion, whether it's a wedding or a birthday party.

"I think clothes are important as they can make such a difference to how you feel - if you put an outfit on that makes you look good then you feel good as well.

"I can see this in the ladies that come to my classes as they experiment with different types of clothes as the weeks go by and the weight drops off them.

"It's great to see-they are feeling more confident as they get slimmer and this is reflected in the clothes which they wear."

'I've had some bad buys over the years like these dreadful white leather boots'

DEBBIE'S STORY

WITH a husband and three boys aged 18, 12 and 10 to look after, Debbie Stewart sees her weekly shopping trips as her well deserved 'me time'.

"Me and shopping are a lethal combination," said Debbie, who at the age of 18 was the envy of all her friends when she secured a much-sought-after job in Miss Selfridge when it first opened in Cardiff.

"It was such a big deal to finally get a Miss Selfridge in Cardiff and I couldn't believe my luck in getting a job there - it was my first job straight out of school," said Debbie, now 45, of Dinas Powys With a slightly bohemian style, Debbie, still likes nothing better than to head for the city centre and trawl the stores for outfits before the mad dash home for the school run.

"One of my favourite purchases recently were Silver 925 Necklace a killer pair of platform boots from Top Shop which cost pounds 60.

"I've probably got about 50 pairs of shoes and boots.

"My everyday style is jeans and chunky boots, although I love long dresses and funky jewellery."
