HP
and Debian Linux may not sound like an obvious pairing, but on August
14 at LinuxWorld in San Francisco, HP announced that it has increased
its Linux distribution support options for customers and will now
support Debian Linux.
Specifically, HP will be supporting Debian
Linux across its HP ProLiant and HP BladeSystem server lines. While Red
Hat, Novell SUSE, the Asianux foundation of Miracle, Red Flag, and
Haansoft remain HP's first choice of Linuxes for its customers, it has
been working internally with Debian since the Linux community's
beginnings in 1995.
HP will provide Debian technical support
for installation and configuration during a server's warranty period.
The company, according to sources close to HP, will also offer "care
packs" for Debian in the future. Care packs will essentially be service
packs.

wasn't at San Francisco's recent LinuxWorld megashow. Now, we know.

The rumors just won't quit. Last week at LinuxWorld, rumors were that Oracle would buy Red Hat; or, it would launch its own Linux distro. Neither happened, but did that stop the rumor mill? Nope.
This week, as my eWEEK buddy Lisa Vaas describes,
a Sun third-party PR firm representative asked the rhetorical question:
"Is it possible that Red Hat is quietly readying itself for acquisition
by Oracle?" The memo went on to badmouth Red Hat.
Since then, Sun has quietly -- but very firmly -- disowned that memo.
Still, the rumor mill continues to grind out these "Oracle is buying Red Hat" stories on a regular basis.

第一部分 仅有一张硬盘的电脑安装linux
我在论坛上的优化初步一文中提过，linux也是有磁盘碎片的，所以为了减少碎片，应将内容经常改变的目录放在单独的分区。一个优化的分区策略，可以很好
地改进Linux系统的性能，减少磁盘碎片，提高磁盘I/O能力。从方便备份数据的角度考虑，因为很多备份工具对整个分区进行备份的效率很高，所以我们应
将Linux系统的几个主要的目录作为单独的文件系统，为它们各自分配一个区。
这里简单介绍下，几个重要的目录，这几个目录在ubuntu安装的硬盘分区时，可选择性的特别分区，进行挂载。
/usr 文件系统中一般不改变的文件，如库，程序。
