由于自己比较喜欢在PC/MAC上用 FreeMind 想事情和分析程序和框架，写了大量的 FreeMind 开发和技术文档，想在 iPhone 上也能看看；并且想随时记录自己的一些想法，清晰的分析事情和问题，于是就做了一个 iPhone 的小应用APP。

iFreeMind is a native software on iPhone for reading, showing and modifing the files created by FreeMind,
and also for creating, writing the FreeMind compatible format files.

You can draw your mind-mapping on Windows/Linux/Mac OS X by FreeMind,
and also do it on iPhone with iFreeMind anywhere and anytime.

Highlights:
- Fully supports the files created by FreeMind.
- Manage files (add, delete and download) through WIFI and the built-in WEB management services.
- Create new FreeMind compatible format files.
- Support Icons for Node. You can add icons to a node. the max-count is 5.
- Toolbar buttons:
- Save file
- Save As file
- Add Child node
- Add Sibling node
- Cut node
- Paste node
- Delete node
- Edit node (can change node content and text color)

Help:
- Triple click the file editing screen to go to Home position.
- Double click the file editing screen to show toolbar.
- Select node for showing the node detail.
- Hold down the button for more than 1 seconds to receive button help message.

* What's "FreeMind"?
FreeMind is a premier free mind-mapping software written in Java.

* What's limit in iFreemind?
The iFreeMind can display maximum 150 Nodes in FreeMind's file, and the largest displaying range is 1400*1400 px.
The maximum lenght of node text is 200 words.
The maximum icons number is 5 for a node.

Version 1.1 features:
==========================
* Append a sibling on the side as same the selected node (for 2nd level nodes).
* Supported Icons for Node (the maximum number is 5).
* Implemented of the Auto-save document when a node content(not including the Icons) is changed or terminated the app.
Icons changing will be saved with a changed content saving.
* Fixed: Can’t back to file list screen if opening a file not created by FreeMind or iFreeMind.

Version 1.2 features:
==========================
- Supported Zoom in/out.
- Supported Collapse/expand.

Version 1.3 features:
==========================
- Support sending mapping-files as email attachments from your iPhone.
(you can mail several files one time).

- FIXED: Can't Save As if opening file is not modified.
- FIXED: Display error when collapse/expand in zooming state.

How to upload and download the mapping files between iPhone and PC or MAC:
==========================================================================

1. Open your iPhone WiFi network.
2. Run iFreeMind.
3. touch "WebFile Manager" button, then you will find a URL address on top of the screen.
Example (like as this, please use yours): http://192.168.1.111:8080

4. Open a browser (e.g. IE, FireFox, Safari and so on) on your PC or MAC, input that URL address and go, then you will locate into a web page.
Notice: your browser has to support JAVASCRIPT.
5. On the page, you can upload and download the FreeMind mapping files.

For download mapping files:
6. On the page, right-click the file your want to download, then select "Save As" from the menu context for download.

How to move a node (trunk):
==========================================================================
1. Select the node you want to move.
2. Click "Cut" icon to cut the node to memory.
3. Select the node you want to move to.
4. Click "Paste" icon to paste the node in memory as a CHILD.

OK. Follow above steps you can move a node to another position.

Hi, I really appreciate iFreeMind. It's a very useful tool and I'm glad you made it. There is one support request I have though.

In the next version can you either automaticall save when the application is closed, or automatically save every time a node is updated?

I've had multiple times in less than 24 hours where I hit the home button on my iPhone and lost what I was working on because I forgot to save.

Other than that -- great application! I love it! And thank you very much!

I'm very happy you enjoy it.

I will append the feature on version 1.2.

I think you are using the version 1.0 now.
In the version 1.1, I have append the Icons support. and have update the app to Apple. It's still in in Review and waiting for sale.

I have already replace the version 1.1 file with the features of version 1.2, because Apple don't review the version 1.1 yet.

So, the new version 1.1 have included "automatically save" function.
Now, iFreeMind have no version 1.2 for uploading.

But the planing of version 1.2 is worked out now.

Do you really spent 2 weeks on it?

What are going to be added to next version? Will the saving as images and scaling content view be added?

I love simple, I love iFreeMind very much.
I think that iFreeMind is only a mind-mapping tool to help me think. I don't think iFreeMind can be used by everyone, but that's enough she fit me.
I don't like there are a lot of brilliant features but useless.

Hi, Fred,

Saving as images and scaling content have been planned in the development road-map, and iFreeMind will include Theme feature.

And iFreeMind prices will remain unchanged!

Besides, I also love simple. I also intend to append only useful features and functions into iFreeMind future.

为什么会少一些回复序号：

我的英文不好，所以在用英文回贴时，总有一些英文错误，百度HI也不允许对自己的回复进行编辑，所以，只有通过删除重贴的方式来纠正错误，所以就造成了一些序号缺失。

这里没有删除任何其他人的回复。我也是刚刚回复 Fred 写错了英文纠正时才发现的，所以在此说明一下喽。

I love freemind... and now ifreemind.

How can I transfer a mindmap from my iphone back to my mac after I have created or updated it on my iphone.

I am able to transfer from mac to iphone... but can't figure out how to transfer from iphone to mac.

Hi, Danny,

You can download a FreeMind file from iPhone, as you upload FreeMind files to iPhone, in same page.

You can right click on the file you want to download, then select "Save As".
I think you know the following steps after that. :-).

Congratulations for the application, I´m a Freemind lover, and when I saw this in the AppStore I almost cried.

I´m a programmer and I was wondering if you need any help with this, I you require it let me know

I´ve updated the version and the email feature is not properly working, it crashes. It´s also a pain in the neck to give an SMTP, a user and password. why don´t you use a call to the Mail app, like the Notes do? It´s just a suggestion

I have test the email feature with gmail, yahoo.com, sohu.com and 163.com (including their SMTPs).

Why don't I use a call to the Mail app?
Answer:
1. Cann't send attachments.
2. Cann't send tabs or multiple spaces in the body of an email.
3. Maybe run away with more memory when a new app is runing.

BTW:
It will be crashed for memory issue If there have larger mind-mapping files be sent. You can try to send ONE mind-mapping file ONE time, and send several times for the all files need be sent.

I was able to load iFreemind on my iphone - and starting pulling in some of my large .mm files - but I can not view the entire map on iPhone (as they are too large) - any help here?

BTW: if the above can become operable - I have a great idea for an app.

I knew your problem, and I think you have known the limits of iFreeMind because the memory limit on iPhone.

below is the limit of iFreeMind:

Afraid I don't read Japanese, so I hope I'm doing this right...

Is there a roadmap for iFreemind somewhere? I've found many problems with it's ability to handle Freemind 0.9.0RC4 files and I'm wondering if they're going to be addressed. Failing that, is there a list what is and is not supported on iFreemind?

iFreemind have no plan to handle freemind 0.9, because there are many differences between 0.8 and 0.9, and the same time, freemind 0.9 is still in RC.

Hi,

I understand that 0.9 is still in RC but there is some interesting features like Attributes (sort of table where you can insert informations) that we use on all our mindmaps (we use them to do documentation).

Do you plan to support such functions one days?

iPhone with limited resources is not like a PC/MAC. so some functions with high level resources can't be implemented.

Now, I'm speeding more time on implementing more functions basing on freemind version 0.8, like reducing more limits, two nodes link and so on.

Hi. I just bought iFreemind today. But don't know how to use it. When I press the 'New' tag, then create a new file. But original sample file was gone. I cannot reference it. And I don't know the meaning of the small icons. Would you mind provide me a user guide ? Or help file ? Thank you very much.

By the way, how to delete a file ? I cannot find the button. I just can delete it from WebFile Manager via browser. Is it normal ? Or how can I do it better ? Thank you again.

1. Sample.spl is a sample file, it will be disappeared if you create yourself file.
2. You can make the delete key appear by dragging your finger from left to right across a file you wish to delete. Confirm your deletion by pressing the red delete key that appears to the right.

About other, you can browse <http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page> for geting more usful information. iFreeMind only implement the main functions of freemind (PC).
