Those foreign websites are not our rivals, at least it is safe to predict for the short term period. What is our advantage over the extant witkey websites in China, such as K68, TaskChina and zhubajie? One breakthrough we can make is satisfactory task management. When a user issues a task on a witkey website, he or she doesn’t know when he or she will get the desirable answer. What can we do to improve that? Maybe we can post a deadtime beside the task. When there is still no answers after the deadtime, the issuer can either asks his or her money back or asks to prolong the deadtime. But there is a problem. What if the issuer is not content with any of the given answers and has no patience to wait any longer? Can he or she ask the pre-given money back? If we allow them to ask their money back in this situation, another problem will rise. What if the issuer asks his or her money back even if he or she has got the desirable answer, by stating that he or she is not satisfied with any of the given answers? These problems are critical in that if we don’t deal with them properly, fewer and fewer users will come to our website to issue tasks or solve tasks, and at last, our website will run out of business.

  Wei Quan said that we can post on our website tasks of those foreign witkey websites, looking for the most favorable answer and then giving it the the original issuer. But what if our answer is turned down? We are not going to get any money from the original issuer then, and how can we pay money to the original answerer? 

  Currently, I consider tasks as the most crucial factor for the success of a witkey website. With a great many tasks which can particularly draw public attention, our website will grow larger and larger smoothly.

This week’s presentation by two members of the IFORCE team is so enlightening. The first speaker talked about GIS: geography information system. A satellite takes photos of different parts of the earth surface and then a data base of the earth surface is formed. This data base can be used in many ways and the related technology is mainly held by the military and airways. Some interested companies can by the data base for business purposes. For instance, Google bought the data base and put out Google Earth in 2005. Google Earth has two versions: a simplified one free of charge and a professional one, which you have to pay a certain amount of money for using. 

  I happened to use Google Earth for a while out of curiosity, but never thought what it can do to for me or my future business. Now I know much more about it. When I go to a city and don’t know the way to my destination, I can turn to Google Earth. When I want to find a restaurant, I can click some buttons then all restaurants in that area all appear on the screen. Wonderful! And the technology is still developing. In the future, we can even have four-dimensional maps, meaning that we can view three-dimensional maps of different times of a certain area.

  But I have no idea about what this technology can do for the online businesses such as a witkey website. Maybe I need more time to think it through. Maybe someone who is reading the blog can tell me.
