Determining the Difficulty of a Brute Force Attack定难度一个蛮力攻击

The difficulty of a brute force attack depends on several factors, such as:困难一个蛮力攻击,取决于几个因素,例如:

  • How long can the key be?如何能长久的关键是什么?
  • How many possible values can each component of the key have?有多少可能的值可各组成部分的关键是什么?
  • How long will it take to attempt each key?多久才能尝试每个关键?
  • Is there a mechanism which will lock the attacker out after a number of failed attempts?是否有一个机制,这会锁定攻击后,一些失败的尝试?

As an example, imagine a system which only allows 4 digit PIN codes.作为一个例子,想象一个系统,只允许第4位数字密码。 This means that there are a maximum of 10,000 possible PIN combinations.这意味着有超过一万尽可能销组合。
