Product Description: "The record is called Departure for a number of reasons," says Jesse McCartney, whose multi-platinum 2004 debut album Beautiful Soul launched his career as an international singing star. "There have been departures in my career, in my personal life. I've learned a lot since doing my first couple of records. I think I've landed in the most comfortable place I've ever been musically as the style of music, my vocals and the lyrical content of the songs on this album. I co-wrote several songs on the new album, and learned a lot from the producers I worked with. In the process of writing for my own project, I wound up writing "Bleeding Love" with Ryan Tedder for Leona Lewis. Departure has a little more of mature sound than what my fans previously heard from me but this is the road that I'm on right now and it's the road that I believe they'll join with me!" With star writers and hit making producers such as Sean Garrett (Usher, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Pussycat Dolls, Chris Brown), Tricky & The-Dream (Rihanna, Mariah Carey), J.R. Rotem (Britney Spears, Sean Kingston, 50 Cent, Rihanna) and The Clutch (Omarion, Timbaland, Ciara, Bobby Valentino), Departure has an edgier pop/urban sound than Beautiful Soul and Jesse's sophomore album, 2006's Right Where You Want Me reflecting Jesse's growth as a songwriter and young man. "When it was time to do my third album, I wanted people to see another side of me. I wanted the record to have a little retro hint sonically but with a my own contemporary feel - I listened to the music of Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince a lot before we started the album. I knew I had to present myself in a fresh way so I was open to other people's ideas and suggestions, especially since I was working with such great writers and producers." As the co-writer of many of the album's songs, Jesse chose to share the experiences he's had since Beautiful Soul made him a household name throughout the U.S. and in a dozen or more countries, from Italy to Japan. "I recorded my first solo album when I was 16. A lot has happened since then and this new album reflects my experiences growing up over the past couple of years and various stages of family and personal relationships. I bought my first home. I've been fortunate enough to tour all over the world which meant being away from my family and friends for very lengthy times. I've experienced all the ups and downs of relationships people my age go through. That's why I think fans who've grown up with me will relate to the songs on Departure, many of which do have an autobiographical feel."
Jesse McCartney follows up 2006's 'Right Where You Want Me'with the release of his third offering 'Departure'. The album lives up its name as fans are treated to a change in musical direction, swaying away from pop and into the realms of R&B. Smooth lyrical work and slick production from the likesof Tricky Stewart (Rihanna, Usher) and J.R. Rotem (50 Cent,Britney Spears) provides the album with a mixture of ballads and club hits. Singles include 'Leavin''.

Rhydian Roberts was the runner-up, and indeed most memorable contestant, from X Factor 2007. He was pipped to the post by the more fresh-faced Leon Jackson in the series finale, but thanks to some unique stylings and bold song interpretations the determined, classically-trained singer from Wales with a chiselled visage and striking white hair left a deep and potentially lasting impression. For his eponymous debut album though, a year in the making, it's a hard not to be disappointed that his bookish yet bombastic versions of tracks like Pink's "Get the Party Started" and the Pet Shop Boys' "Go West"--staples of his success, surely--have been left behind in favour of aligning his operatic tones with more traditionally suitable song vehicles. There are still some reminders of his scene-stealing slots on Saturday night TV--a sterling, sombre re-telling of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and pristine showcase for his voice, "Somewhere" from West Side Story. Add to this old musical standard "The Impossible Dream" (a popular choice, also recorded by fellow X-factor x-pat, crooner Andy Abraham) and straight covers of 'popera' veterans Meatloaf and Queen (with "Not a Dry Eye in the House" and "Who Wants to Live Forever" respectively) and though his voice is given a fine workout and chance to evidence those years of training, his personality doesn't quite break through with it as expected. Let's hope Rhydian can be rationalised as the contractual obligation and that this is just the start of his story.Despite only finishing as runner-up in the 2007 X Factor competition, demand for more from Welsh-born, classically-trained singer Rhydian Roberts has been high. After a gap of almost a year (seemingly the standard time for ex-contestants to ready their debut), the simply-titled 'Rhydian' makes goodon the singer's promise shown during the competition. His characteristically flamboyant interpretations of hits from musicals and beyond take up a fair amount of this release, even performing a duet with Broadway legend Idina Menzel on 'What If'. 2008 debut album from, as many would describe him, the "real" winner of X Factor 2007. A collection of inspired covers and original songs, the album was recorded in LA, London and Stockholm by producers including Steve Mac (Il Divo) and Walter A (Leona Lewis). 11 tracks including 'The Impossible Dream', 'To Where You Are', 'Not A Dry Eye In The House' and many more. Product Description: Limited Deluxe digipak edition of their 2007 'comeback' album including bonus tracks, exclusive photos, a separate pull-out poster and much more. 2007 album from one of Pop's most successful acts, now slimmed down to a quartet (adios, Kevin Richardson) but sounding better than ever. Celebrating the 10th Anniversary since the release of their self-titled debut, Unbreakable sees the Backstreet Boys back in action and ready to climb the charts all over again. Features the hit 'Inconsolable'. Jive. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title. They're a foursome now that Kevin Richardson has left the band, but Backstreet Boys have every right to make a record called Unbreakable and, if you can't guess why, you haven't been listening. Like every Backstreet record before it, Unbreakable boasts Super Glue-strength harmonies and an overall tightness of sound--the boys may be practitioners of the kind of pop that music snobs love to skewer, but that doesn't mean they're not exceptionally good at it, or that there's not a lot here worth whistling to (for instance, the pleasing, mildly propulsive "Everything But Mine" or the bouncy, big-beated "One In a Million"). In addition to the dancier tunes, Unbreakable busts out a lot for the ladies and their teen-age daughters to love: with ballads running a gamut from the dreamy ("You Can Let Go"), to the tender ("Unsuspecting Sunday Afternoon"), to the transcendingly pretty ("Love Will Keep You Up All Night"), there's no shortage of opportunities for the knock-kneed and swollen-hearted to bond. Which seems like a better idea now than ever. For one thing, the music is more thoughtful and mature than ever; for another, how often does the chance to bond over something called Unbreakable come along?
Description: American baritone Josh Groban's Christmas-inspired 'Noel' album features festive favourites such as 'Silent Night', 'ItCame Upon A Midnight Clear' and 'Little Drummer Boy'. Sung in Groban's distinctly emotive style, these songs benefit from the accompaniment of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborations with the African Children's Choir. Though many of the songs on 'Noel' touch on the classical repertoire, Groban has stated that his music is purely popular and made with mass appeal in mind, citing Paul Simon and Radiohead as major influences.
Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Josh Groban is known as a versatile performer and singer. Here he introduces fans to his festive side with Noel," a collection of cover tunes that run from "the religious to the irreverent". With orchestral backing from the London Symphony Orchestra, Groban croons and soars his way through a varied range of Christmas classics, enlisting the likes of Brian McKnight ("Angels We Have Heard on High"), Faith Hill ("The First Noel"), and a gospel choir directed by Kirk Franklin to help conjure up a warm and soulful vibe. Tracks like "I'll Be Home for Christmas", "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", (featuring just voice and piano) and "O Come All Ye Faithful" (with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) should provide a soothing sonic accompaniment for all music fans, no matter what the age range or stylistic leaning.
The Grammy-nominated, twenty-something, pop-classical phenomenon's fourth studio album is an expertly accomplished entry to the holiday marketplace. Noël tackles the familiar sounds of holiday music with a charmingly eclectic array of guest vocalists and a wide range of material. The songs range from the sacred to the secular, while Groban--buoyed in spots by none other than the London Symphony Orchestra--soars in his duets with Brian McKnight, Faith Hill, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. There's even a song with a gospel choir directed by Kirk Franklin. Produced yet again by crossover maestro David Foster, the arrangements never overwhelm the songs. Groban's smooth and supple vocals can be hard to categorize--seeing how his range is somewhere in-between a high baritone and a low tenor--but he always finds and emphasizes the emotional core of these songs. And whether they have origins in pop or classical music seems not to matter. The addition of messages from troops stationed in Iraq on top of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is undeniably heart-wrenching, while the album's highlight is its most spare song, "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," which finds Groban alone at his piano, sounding very much like some kind of angel.

Description: 'Back Home' is the eighth studio album by mega Irish pop balladeers Westlife. Fans will be ecstatic as the album sees the boys do what they do best, delivering a tried and tested formula of powerful and uplifting ballads and classic and modern covers. Includes the Michael Buble covered single 'Home'.
Westlife aren’t exactly full of surprises. If they were maybe we wouldn’t be here discussing the release of their ninth (yes, NINTH!) album, another sure-fire number 1 a staggering eight years after their first. Barely breaking sweat at any point over their career, slow and steady wins the race it seems--and song after song after song of just-so pro-forma arm-waving heartache fits that bill. Flip them over and you’ll find guarantees tattooed to their spines--and you can’t knock them for sticking to the rule-sheet like good boy scouts, can you? Of course they’re boys no longer, not that you should expect amendments owing to that fact. Their sound has been afforded maturity in recent years and we get a smooth continuation of that on Back Home, particularly evident on "I’m Already There" as they sing earnestly of missing their kids when away from home as emotions swell courtesy of climbing orchestration and cracking voices. Their voices cradle each other in their famously supportive Motown-aping style throughout, but particularly on "Have You Ever" as Shane steps ahead and aims beyond Ronan Keating’s heights with his keen lead. The album’s token upbeat song "The Easy Way" almost surges into N-Sync territory with a perky horn section, but your pulse needn’t be alarmed. There are no immediately obvious additions to their greatest hits canon (perhaps the Michael Buble penned "Home", given time), but Back Home will reinforce whatever it is you think about Westlife–-guaranteed. --James Berry
2007 from the reigning kings of Pop, their ninth album overall. The Irish boyband have sold 36 million albums, not forgetting their 14 UK #1 singles. Back Home contains twelve brand new songs with production credits including Quiz Larossi, Per Magnusson and Rami. Features the first single, 'Home'. RCA.
Description: Two years after winning The X Factor, Manchester-born Shayne Ward follows up his eponymous 2006 debut. While that albumwas predominantly composed of ballads, this release sees Ward "acting his age" with a collection of infectious, uptempo, RnB-influenced pop. Produced by pop supremos extraordinaire Maratone (Britney, Westlife, Celine Dion) and Ryan Tedder (J-Lo, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis), it includes the singles 'Breathless' and the no.2 double A-side hit 'No U HangUp'/'If That's OK With You'.
Brit-nominated Manchester lad Shayne Ward proved himself a real soul talent and a more than capable balladeer with his debut album, Shayne Ward. This second outing, Breathless is something of a surprise, in that it sees the singer take a more assertive stance, swapping the slowies for uptempo disco, dance and electronic R&B. Recorded in Sweden with legendary pop don Max Martin (Britney Spears, N'SYNC, the Backstreet Boys), the album bristles energetically in a way that Ward’s debut didn’t. Recent single "If That’s Okay With You," showcases the upbeat vibe to some extent, but "No U Hang Up" and "Melt the Snow" come with an even more contemporary feel, while "Tell Him" and "U Got Me So" wouldn’t be out of place on a Justin Timberlake album. The reggae groove of "Damaged" works well, as does the album’s key ballad, "Breathless". The only downsides are the bizarrely Wham-esque "Tangled Up" and the boring and mediocre "Stand By Your Side". Largely though, this is a triumphant sophomore album from a real British soul survivor. --Danny McKenna
Shayne Ward is the ultimate performer and has the whole package. He has a glorious voice, he dances very well and he looks like a greek god. He also holds the audience in the palm of his hand. Saw him at Wembley and he was amazing. I cannot wait for his next tour. I will fly anywhere to see him. His new album is absolutely outstanding. He has gone for a new sound to show his age. Not all ballads but a mixture of super ballads and quirky r&b tracks. Damaged shows the reggae, You Make Me Wish an amazing electronic edge, U Got Me So in the Timberlake vein, Stand by Your Side has the bongo drums which gives an African edge, the wonderful Until You which really is such a beautiful ballad and Breathless which literally does leave one breathless when he does the double falsetto. I also love the smooth Some Tears Never Dry and Melt the Snow with its echoing Woos. But my favourite track of all is the innovative Tell Him which takes a classical pearl and modernises it to a modern day sound - Shayne's sound. It is permanently on my cd player. Fabulous track.

1. No U Hang Up - A nice electro/synthesizer beat on this song will have you tapping your feet from the first note. A great opener.
2. Breathless - A great love song about a lover leaving him breathless. I love the subtle beats that carry this ballad along. Shayne's voice is nothing but emotion on this song.
3. If That's OK With You - An upbeat song that's as fun as it is catchy. This song would make a perfect American summer jam. It has that "sunny" vibe to it.
4. Damaged - When Shayne starts this song off with that high note without making you cringe, you begin to see why this man is pure talent. When the reggae vibe kicks in you almost forget he's singing about getting "damaged" from a past love.
5. Stand by Your Side - Not really a fan of this song. It has a really 80-ish vibe in my opinion, not that I don't like that. Maybe I just don't like this song in general. Decent song, but dismal compared to the rest of this wonderful album.
6. Until You - A sweet mid-tempo ballad showcasing Shayne's beautiful voice.
7. Some Tears Never Dry - A really good up-tempo song with a great beat and catchy chorus. Its lyrics describe two lovers that seem to be "falling out of love" but he just wants another shot at it.
8. Melt the Snow - One of my favorites on this CD. The subtle, bouncy electro-vibe to this mid-tempo song about watching a woman in a bad relationship from afar is excellent. A great song, hands down.
9. Tangled Up - The "other" song on this album I just can't get into. This song has a disco feel to it that just doesn't seem to find it's way into the flow of this record. Honestly, I've not finished this song from start to finish.
10. Just Be Good to Me - A decent song with a nice up-beat tempo about loving a girl with a not-so-great reputation. Not one of my favortites, but it's still good.
11. U Got Me So - I hate to say this, but this song definitely has a "Justin Timberlake" sound to it, but not a bad way. It works. It's got a nice up-beat R&B feel to it that really works with Shayne's higher pitched vocals. I really like this song.
12. You Make Me Wish - Starts out with some synthesizer and builds into another nice up-tempo jam about seeing a woman and then wishing he didn't have a girlfriend anymore.
13. Tell Him - Starts out with a really nice piano run and turns into a really good classical sounding R&B song (is that possible..classical R&B) about a cheating woman that hasn't told her current lover about it......yet.
All in all, this album really showcases everything that is good about Shayne Ward. It's a crying shame he's not had any stateside success. Pick this CD up and you won't look back.
