Flyers in top spot

WITH Snorts FC's game cancelled, the Flyers took top spot in week seven of the Slimbridge Front Pin Summer Skittles League with a 67- pin victory over Pot Luck.

The first half was a close affair, despite Adam Lamb hitting 50 for Pot Luck.

The eventual winners took a three-pin lead, thanks to a score of 48 from Richard Cullimore and Kevin Wherrett contributing with a 13 spare on the seventh leg.

The second half saw the Flyers take full control as they consistently hit legs in the 20s to run out winners.

SAS moved into second spot after a 73-pin victory over Slimbridge RBL.

SAS took a 12-pin first-half lead as Dave Yeomans scored 56, while for the latter Sue Coole scored 40.

The second half saw Harry Evans hit 68 for SAS. His score included 14 and 15 spares as they took maximum points.

Replica watches The Bowmen sit in fourth spot after a nine-pin victory over the Breezers.

Despite David Harrison hitting a 15 spare on the last leg of the first half, in his total of 63, it was the Breezers who took a single-pin advantage.

The second half remained close, Stuart Murdoch hitting 52 for the Bowmen while Tina Lees and Richard Lees both scored 41 for the Breezers.
