Honorable Judges.Ladies and Gentlemen.
When in senior high school. I was a good student who was expected to perform well in the College Entrance Exam. However. to everyone's supperise,
I failed and my heart sank. So I tried again the following year, but it seemed that God was not on my side, Beijing University closed its doors to me.Feeling completely lost in time and space, I wanted to escape, even abandon myself to despair because I didn't know what my future would be like.
after a long period of meditation, I realized that no matter how excellent we think we were , it has become history and we have to face the facts. because if we don't confront and overcome our internal fears. then we cease to grow, we become trapped in a shell of our own making. and the best way to perdict my future is to create it.
so I started again ,and to change, to make a breakthrough.
With this attitude and great efforts, doors have opened ,as if by magic, I won the second prize in a National TV host competition for college students.
And also, i got the 3rd palce in a national business plan content.
Just several days ago, I received an offer from a famous multi-national company, which is many college student's dream, looking back on the past days. these words are calling in my ear, bitter, sweet.
everything can be accomplished with your devotion and determination, for no mountain is too high for us to climb. Thankyou!

Drugs should be legal?
by no means do I belive that drug use is a harmless crime. Drug users are not only hurting themselves, they are hurting people around. on the one hand. when they use drugs. they sent a dangerous signal to people around and make them think that it is okay to use drugs and people might imitate. On the other hand, in order to make a living some drug users sell drugs, incourage people around so that they can give them money, So they can continue to use drugs. What is more, this inflicts pain on people who care about them. who see them suffering. who see the declining of their health conditions, but does it mean that we should make drug use illegal? In the 1920s there was a movements in Amercia that banned the usage of serious of things that were considered harmful to people including alcohol, drugs. but this kind of movement resulted in great failure. it only make the situation worse.
that's why I do not think that we should make drug use illegal. First. the will give rise to the emergence of black market. some people would take advangage of this and raise the price of drugs and without making sure the quality of drugs. this will only lead to more trouble to drug users. Second. let's talk about pepole 's psychology. there is an psychological effect called 'Forbidden- fruit' effect. the more you forbid something ,the more people get curious about something. and this kind of phenomenon is especially obvious in youngsters读音 who are not good at controlling themselves. this will only make people get more curious about drugs. What should government do then? For those people who have not got close to drugs. The government should educate them on the harm of drugs.let them stay away from this dangerous thing. For people who are unfortunate enough to have already got into this addiction. The government. as well as people around , should guide them. help them with patience and understanding to let them get rid of this addiction. |
2009年03月29日 星期日 下午 1:05 I am going to tell you an interesting story first. when i was just a little girl. Once I went to the beach with my mother and I insisted on carrying home some stones and sand so that I could play with them.My mother finally agreed and gave me container and said ok, but only if you could put them all into this one container. So at first I put a lots of sands and then tried to put all those stones but I failed. my mother came up to me and said.well ** how about putting the stones in first and then fill the extra space with the sand. I tired and it did work. the container actually had eough space to hold both the stones and sand.
The container represents our life. stones are the important things and the sand the daily trafilles.can you imagine that the difference your selections priority can make ,in real life choose what goes first in critical. in other words in our real life when add --- you need to select the first one carefully.
Once my roommate was working on a paper. and yet and the same time. she was also busy cahtting with seven friends on msn, shifting from window to window and again and again. she had barely finished half of her paper by mid-night。I belive many of us had done the same thing. more often than not, we try to do two things simultaneously. because we want them both done. but any were finished neither of them。 the reason of my roomate failed to finish her paper on time was she didn't recognized the two different things importance *** one plus one less than two.
Then you may wonder my firends why do people fail to do the more important things first. because the important things always seems to involved with obstacles and changelleges. be afraid of difficulty we tend to the last important easy things first. ** failth of the challages. in other words we choose to putting the sands first because the stones seem to too heavy to lift. However. my firends one plus one does not necessirely equally two . we wouldn't be not efficient if we not give top priority to things that most important to us . when you busy filling the container with sand. we do not recognize the fact there is extra less space for the stones the things the most important to us.
So my dear friend. isn't it wiser to for us to attend to the stones first with courige and faith. |
2009年03月18日 星期三 上午 10:44 One in four computers in the world comes from China; but from each computer produced,
China earns only what 10 apples are worth. I read this in People’ Daily not long ago.
While the force of globalization has spread Chinese-made products all over the world and
earned China the name “world’s factory”, China earns very little profits from this
kind of low-cost production. It’s even been said that China has to export 800 million
shirts to get an airplane.
The problem is, China has involved in countless processes of production, but doesn’t
necessarily have the intellectual property rights. If all we can be is part of the
low-cost, labor-oriented production process, we’ll remain in a passive, disadvantaged
position and gradually lose our competitive edge in the global arena. To develop China’s
creative industry, transforming products from "made in China" to "created in China"
has become one of China’s major tasks.
This transformation will be no less like a marathon, requiring much effort especially
that from Chinese enterprises, the major force in Chinese economy. Though there’ s no
one in front leading us which direction to run, there’s much to learn from some Chinese
enterprises that have already found the right strategies and are shining on the global
stage. These strategies involve brand identity establishment, technological innovation
and modern management system.
Firstly, the brand that I mentioned above is an intangible yet most valuable asset to a
company. It gains credibility from consumers, thus constituting the reason for consumers
to buy habitually. Tong Ren Tang, the largest producer of traditional Chinese medicine,
remains one of the oldest surviving brand names. The credibility that it gained through
quality products has made its name known worldwide and maintains its recognized brand.
The second strategy is innovation of technology, which helps enterprises gain its core
competency. In the global era where technology emerges at a rapid speed, one has to adopt
the latest technology, and also to compete for the speed of developing new ones. The success
of Haier, the third largest household appliances manufacturer in the world, lies in its
constant innovation. Over the past 16 years, Haier has invested a total of 7 billion RMB
in technological development, using 6 percent of its income for scientific research and
the development of new products. At present, Haier's development operational speed is
turning out 1.3 new products a day, maintaining its upper-hand in the fierce competition.
The third strategy is the establishment of modern management system. New Hope Group,
the National Leading Enterprise for Agriculture, started from family-owned business.
When the business was soaring and situation was changing, the family members had
divergent views of management. To make sure of the development of their business,
they decided to turn their company into a limited liability one, distributing property
rights efficiently. Because of this, the company increased its competitiveness rapidly.
Establishing a modern management system will lead to efficient levels of division
of labor and efficient patterns in the business cycle.
With brand identity, technology and flexibility, China’s creative industries will
blossom and give China the cutting edge in the fierce global competition. One day,
China will stand firm and proud, with national brands thriving on the global markets,
and with millions of products tagged “created in China”, instead of “made in China”. |
2007年11月25日 星期日 下午 8:39 Being different is significant for creativity and innovation. And it is this difference that makes our world more colorful. Being different also means diversity, which is as the saying goes. The spice of life. Scientists need to employ the method of brainstorming in order to acquire different ideas and opinions from their member.
However, being different does not necessarily mean that you have to be an oddball. Which everybody hates. Being different simply means that you have to think by yourself individually. Therefore. When we face tough decisions let us believe in ourselves instead of following others. Confidence is the best strategy.
I suppose to be different from inside is even more important than to be different from the outside. It is because trying to be different from yourself directly results in essential improvement inside you whereas the efforts to be distinct from others might stay in the superficial level.
To sum up, I would say that to be different from yourself is more important than to be different from others. As long as we concentrate on improving ourselves and transcend ourselves, we would not be the same and cann’t be the same as others. Excellence will make you stand out saliently.
Ladies and gentlemen. The improved living condition of people has brought about its own problems. Many people turn to fatty food. Which is responsible for the widespread obesity in the whole world. Many people sit still in the office all day with their heavy work without moving around and stretching themselves. Many people drive to work every day instead of the traditional way of riding a bike or walking. All of these have added to the growing concern of the subhealth of people, especially people in the modern society.
just think about the diseases caused by modern life. While the modernity and prosperity of our society has brought us convenience , it is high time we paid special attention to our declining health conditions. I suggest, busy as we are we should set aside some time every day for physical exercise. One easy approach is to do more running.
The advantages of running are many. We can run anytime anywhere, it’s not costly at all. Above all, running prevents us from overweight and improves our immune system to fight against various dieases.
You may think that persistent running every day is too energy-consuming, well actually running is full of fun and many people get benefit from it. President Bush practices running or what he calls jogging. To make himself strong. besides. I myself have benefited a lot. In my university, students run a lot to follow the slogan. We should work healthily for our motherland for as log as 50 years. Going through some hard time of perseverance and adaptation at the beginning of my running, I have become healthier and more energetic than ever before. I can now handle my study and work with greater efficiency. So la and ge, please join me in running, it is a strategy that will save our world out of our declining heath conditions.

When I came home for the holiday in my sophomore year of college, I thought I know everything about marriage. One evening, my mom and I were watching TV, and I told her that my ideal husband should help clean, do laundry, cook, the whole bit(全体, 全身) . Then I asked her if she ever got tired of doing the dishes. She calmly told me it did not bother her. This was difficult for me to believe. I began to give her a lecture about in the 21 th century. The equality between the sexes.
Mom listened patiently. She looked at me square in the eyes. Someday, dear, you will understand. In a marriage, there are some things you like to do and some things you don’t. So , together. You figure out what little things you are willing to do for each other. You share the duties . I really don’t mind doing the dishes. Of course it takes time. But it is something I do for your dad.
You see. My mother continued. In marrigage, you do little things for each other to make the other’s life easier. If you think of it as helping the person you love. You don’t become very annoyed with doing the dishes or cooking or any task. Because you are doing it out of love.
Over the years. I have often reflected on what my mom said. She has a great perspective on marriage. We need to compromise. We need to give and take. No matter what age we are . what makes a marriage is not ceremony. Not a piece of paper from the state. But love and a sense of duty. A successful marriage comes when we do not succumb what we want to do. But do what ought to be done.

2007年11月15日 星期四 上午 10:05 Honorable Judges, Ladies and Gentlemen, imagine an Indian tribe部落 which has lived with the river at its doorstep入门之阶 for centuries. The boys in this tribe are taught fishing and boat buiding just as their ancestors did, assuming that future would simple replicate the present. In reality, a gigantic dam水坝障碍 is being constructed upstream逆流而上 and willl dry up their branch of the river. The tribal investment in learning to live in a riverine culture suddently becomes pointless(无意义).
This story, as I see it, describes a situation which is very similar to what is facing us today. The only difference is that instead of a gigantic dam, it is the information technology that is taking us into a whole new future which will be radically(根本上,激进方式) different from the present.
As the future generation. how can we adjust our present learning to our future need? In my opinion, knowledge is important, skill is important and above all, the ability to think is important!
Firstly, living in the information age, we have got ever easier access to abundant information sources, However, information is not enough when thought is absent.
Secondly, information technologies have led to the amazing grouth rate of human knowledge. Therefore, a high ability to absorb knowledge, coupled wih the desire to learn, is surely one of the best preparations for life and career that we can possess today.
As the saying goes, The Rome is not built in a day. To become successful thinker of the future information society, we must focus on thinking actively independently and creatively in the process of learning today. The future starts now and the future is ours. Thank you ! |
2007年11月14日 星期三 下午 2:54 ladies and Gentlemen,When you hear the word future, images of spaceships or skyscrapers might flash through your mind. But if you think about the future in relation to an individual person, the picture is very different.
Recently a friend e-mailed me, Frustrated(失败落空) by the big gap between her expectations and reality, she worte, the future is too elusive!(难懂的,难捉摸的)
The glorious future is like a gigantic巨大的 pyramid角锥,金字塔. But what makes such a miracle reality is merely仅仅只不过 stones, the seemingly表面上 insignificant efforts made right now.
Now, what efforts should we make?
First, you need to develop your personality in a way that will fit with the future society, to be open, persisten, independent, and enthusiastic, This summer, my best friend ZhouLin dropped in on me, after two years' studying in Australia. Having participated in various activities. she has changed from a shy girl to the confident and active president of the Student Union. Obviously, to improve your personality now is to prepare yourself for the future.
Second, you should bulid all-round(多才多艺) abilities as a basis for a splendid壮丽极好的 future, Critical think makes you sharp-minded; interpersonal communication. pleasant;creativeity, innovative; leadership ,efficient, My experience of working in the Student Union taught me how to search for information , how to communicate with people. and how to organize activities. Such abilities that you can cultivate everyday are the key to a successful future.
The best way to predict(预言 ) the future is to create it. I hold this as my motto猫头. It always reminds me to focus on today and to treasure the present.

Honorable Judges, Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honor to be one of the speakers today.
First of all. I'd like to share a story with you. Three years ago I found a part-time job as a training officer at a school. One day shortly after listening to my lecture, the headmaster came and shouted at me, Do you know that half of your listeners walked off? I want an explanation!
The following day. I turned in my resignation. But I wept bitterly that night. I thought a lot and I kept thinking, on and on until two years later. I restarted my career at the very school I once left merely because of my pride(自尊心). You might say Wasn't it quite embarrassing for you to go back? Well yes. So why did I do it? Because I wanted to stand up again right from where I fell down.
During these two years. I've been actively involved in higher education administration for student counseling咨询服务, conference arrangement, profect coordination. The enrichment of experience taught me the significance意义重要性 of modesty虚心, responsibility, tolerance, and perseverance坚定不移. And I gradually realized how conceited自以为是 and narrow-minded I was two years ago.
The way I saw things was created by the conditon of my own reality then. And the way I understood these things produced the substance物质 of their effect upon me. The decision of resuming重新开始 my duty is not only a confrontation of that failure two years ago, but also they way it impacts me in my daily life. And I believe the achievement of this undertand will be found in the totality全体 and tenacity坚韧 with which I confront each obstacles障碍. |
2007年11月14日 星期三 上午 10:30 Imagin a world in which Martin Luther King had failed to speak out against oppressive racism. How different our world would be like today ? For centuries, people and countries have been fighting to make their voices heard. And toady, freedom of speech is a notion which is deeply ingrained(根深蒂固) upon people's mind. It is so important that some nations have even enshrined(铭记) it in their constitutions. But why, we might ask, do people consider that thte right to make their voices heard to be so important? And what is so important about speaking out anyway?
Well, it is the nature of man to enquire into things and to strive for self-improvement. Often situations arise when we are compelled(强迫) to speak up(大声地说) for reform. However, if people are reluctant(勉强的) to express your opinions due to(由于), for example. laziness, restrictions and fear, then much that needs reform will remain unchanged. Human progress depends upon the change and free flow of ideas whether in spoken or written form. But most of the time, people are reluctant to speak up. And for example, many times people just because of fear are unwiling to stand up and say the things they want.
And built upon(指望依赖建立于) the sufferings of those who are brave enough to fight for it. freedom of speech is actually the thing that we've always fighted. I should say that. conclude my speech by remindming all of you that. we should use our voices and to speak out with passion and conviction(深信,宣告有罪), for that is right and our right. Because I have to remind you that we should also use our ears to listen with respect and understanding, for that is our duty. Thank you ! |
