The agencies monopolized house sources and raised rents in many cites by 20%-50% in less than a month. Netizens are calling for lawmakers to levy an "empty home tax" to curb the soaring house rents. Under the proposed tax, when a person buys a house and doesn't live in it, rent it out or sell it within the regulated period, he would have to pay a tax for the house.

A bus belonging to Wuxi's Xuefeng Steel Company erupted in flames in Jiangsu at 11:16 pm Sunday. Of the 45 passengers on board, 24 were killed immediately and 19 were injured. Treatment of the injured persons and an investigation of the cause of the fire are currently under way.
4日晚11点16分许，无锡市雪丰钢铁公司一夜班接送车突然起火。车上共有45人，其中24人当场死亡，19人不同程度受伤。目前，伤员救治、事故原因调查正在紧张进行中。

>US airport receives bomb scare

New York City's JFK Airport evacuated 300 passengers from Terminal 1 at 5:40 pm Sunday, after receiving an anonymous call claiming there was a bomb in the airport. Around the same time as the call, a piece of suspicious, unattended luggage was reported. After police checked the luggage and determined that it was not a bomb, the terminal reopened around 8 pm. Because July 4th is Independence Day for the US, the airport was extremely busy.

She frequented Boujis, the London nightclub haunt of the 2 young princes, with the explicit intention of meeting them. And amid the club's hedonistic "break every rule" parties, it will be virtually impossible for MI5 to rule out Chapman having met one or both of them, however fleetingly. MI5 chiefs are probing an extraordinary link between her and the royals. A spokesman for the princes declined to comment.

US officials have largely ruled out North Korea as the origin of a computer attack last July that took down several US government websites, AP reported. In the days after the fast-moving, widespread attack, analysis pointed to North Korea as the likely starting point because code used in the attack included Korean language and other indicators. Some officials suggest the attacks may have been designed as a political broadside. Their suspicions are aimed at the South Koreans, possibly activists, who are concerned about the threat from North Korea and would be looking to ramp up antagonism toward their neighbor.

Fang Zhouzi, China's crusader against fraud, wrote several entries on his microblog from July 1 to 4, saying many experiences of Tang Jun, the most expensive employee in China, are fake, including studying abroad and starting up his business in the US, the Guangzhou Daily reported.

Fang Zhouzi questioned Tang's PhD diploma at the California Institute of Technology. He said Tang Jun's name is not on the school's alumni record, and Tang's doctorial dissertation can't be found in the dissertation database.

The domino effect means that if an immediate friend or colleague splits up, your own chance of divorce increases by 75%. The researchers believe that break-ups within groups of friends force couples to start questioning their own relationships. The findings come from a continuing study into the lives of more than 12,000 Americans living in the New England town of Framingham since 1948.

It could pave the way for a new class of dieting drugs that help people shed pounds without distressing side effects. The idea would be to stop us from eating purely for pleasure instead of from hunger, researchers at Manchester University say.
