How to configure your mail client to use the address book
Usernames:
Your username for the purpose of address book configuration is uid=username,ou=People,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in, where username must be substituted with your correct username.
Microsoft Office Outlook 2000
- Start Microsoft Outlook
- Go to Tools > Services
- In the window labelled Services, click on the tab labelled Services, and then click add.
- In the Add Service to Profile window, select Microsoft LDAP directory and click OK
- In the new window that pops up, change Server Name to deeproot.in
- Set the Search base to ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in
- Please Enter your Username and Password in their respective fields.
- Click close and then restart Outlook.
- Choose Address Book from the Tools menu.
- Verify that the Directory just added is visible.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2002/XP
- Start Microsoft Outlook
- Got to Tools > E-Mail Accounts
- In the E-Mail Accounts window, select Add a new directory or Addressbook and click Next
- Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and click Next
- For the Server Name, type deeproot.in
- In the logon information, please check This server requires me to log on and enter your Username and Password.
- Click on More Settings... and enter ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in for Search base
- Click Apply, OK, Next and Finish.

Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
- Start Microsoft Outlook
- Click on Tools > Email Accounts
- In the E-Mail Accounts Window, select Add a new directory or Addressbook and click Next
- Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and click Next
- For the Server Name, type deeproot.in
- In the logon information, please check This server requires me to log on and Enter your Username and Password.
- Click on More Settings... and enter ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in
- Click Apply, OK, Next and Finish.

Microsoft Outlook Express
- Start Microsoft Outlook Express
- Select Tools > Accounts
- Click on the Directory Services and click on the Add button to the right
- Click on Directory Services on the menu that appears on the right
- In the Internet Directory (LDAP Server) field, enter deeproot.in
- Select the Yes radio button in the next window
- Click Finish
- On the Directory Services tab, select deeproot.in
- Click Properties, and click the Advanced tab
- In the Search base field, enter ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in
- Click Apply, OK, Close.

Mozilla Thunderbird
- Start Mozilla Thunderbird
- Go to Tools > Addressbook and click LDAP directory...
- Click on the General tab
- In the Name field, enter LDAP Addressbook
- In the Hostname field enter deeproot.in
- In the Base DN field, enter ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in
- In the Bind DN field, please enter your Username, as indicated above.
- Please ensure that the Use SSL Connection (SSL) check box is not selected.
- Click on the OK button.

Novell Evolution
- Start Evolution
- Choose File > New > Addressbook
- In the Type drop down, choose LDAP Servers
- Enter Address Book in the Name field.
- In the Server field, enter deeproot.in
- On the Details tab, enter ou=addressbook,dc=demo,dc=deeproot,dc=in for the Search Base
- In the Login Method drop down, choose Distinguished Name
- Enter your Username in the Login field, as indicated above. You will be prompted to enter you password when you attempt to search the addressbook.
- Click Add Address Book
