unit 1 introduction 导言

1 language acquisition获得: the way we acquire our mother tongue without consciously or formally learning it.  (learn language requires some formal training and conscious effort)

2 the Natural Order: listening to a great deal of meaningful language input speaking reading to a great deal of meaningful input, which is formally taught writing.    

3 主要的英语教学法

a) Grammar Translation Method

b) Audio-Lingual Method听说的方法

c) Humanist-approach (holistic-approach整体教学法) the learner is not only a student in the classroom, but also a human being with feeling and emotions.

d) TPR(total physical response) activity—sing, play

e) communicative approach畅谈的方式

f) eclectic-approach折衷方式

4划分syllabus课程提纲的5个方式:

1)     structural syllabus结构的摘要

e.g. Lesson 1 To be     I am, you are, he is

   Lesson 2 To have   I /you/ they have, she/he has

2)     topic syllabus主题摘要

e.g. Unit 1 Food

   Unit 2 Sport

   Unit 3 Work]

3)     functional syllabus功能的摘要

e.g. Unit 1 introduce yourself

   Unit 2 Talking about your hobbies

4)     Situational syllabus

e.g. Unit 1 fist day at school

   Unit 2 in the restaurant

5)     skills syllabus

e.g. Unit 1 reading  a) skimming

                 b) scanning

c)working out the meaning of words

Unit 2 the communicative approach畅谈的方式

1 口语和书面语的不同:

1spoken language is simpler than written language;

2) written language is more complex than spoken language.

3) in written language uses more nouns instead of verbs.

2 some basic characteristics of oral communication

1)        turn-taking in conversation –轮流说

2)        interrupting

3)        body language

3 教师的作用:

instructor教师

controller控制器

manager经理

participant叁加者

prompter提示台词者

resource资源

4 communicative activities 的类型:

1)functional communicative activities 功能的畅谈活动

2) social interaction activities 社会的交互作用活动

5 the basic principles of communicative language
