Definition: Luxurious consumption is kind of action that purchase items of services in comparatively unreasonable price aiming to show off to the people under or in the same social class that they are actually wealthy and that to feel better and to build up a vague mental priority.

Point of view

1.       Luxurious consumption is of great time and money consuming.

2.       Luxurious consumption will bring a unhealthy lifestyle to the public.

3.       Luxurious consumption widen the gap and misunderstanding between classes.

Thanks for the speech given by government side and their opinion as well, but the sad truth is that however your excuses are, luxurious consumption should not be supported especially in less developed countries saying China. As it is well known to everybody that we, China, is a country with a long history and amazing develop speed, but some people may not get the awareness that the uneven distribution of wealth has already become a rather serious issue in China which is becoming the bomb endangering China’s future. Therefore, whenever there is an issue like luxurious consumption will worsen the situation on the uneven distribution of wealth which greatly concerns China’s future, how can we just support that and let it be. But pay attention please ladies and gentlemen here, there is not to say that we should ban luxurious consumption but not to support it. That is because that luxurious consumption does have some obvious shining qualities. Unfortunately when those qualities is thrown to China, they are all in malfeasance, because Chinese’s long time consuming habit and legal system are not accepting that. And here are 3 points to support our viewpoint that luxurious Consumption should not be supported.

Firstly luxurious consumption is of great time and money consuming. We are not denying that those luxuries are of extreme beauty and craftsmanship but these things are from the past for the dignitaries who is in little amount. Here modern time nowadays people are increasing and their desires are increasing as well but the resources are limited. What’s more, we are under a highly development society with artificial intelligence and advanced technology, therefore keeping in high quality while in high efficiency is not longer impossible and actually it is more precise and reliable than human being now. With the money and time to make a handbag for one why not make it for more with the quality? Luxurious consumption are actually not buying the quality but paying for the advertisement and tax fees which hold almost 70% of the total selling price. However, a smart customer and real rich people are not for it, only those vainglories are dying for it.

And gradually, here comes our second point of view that luxurious consumption will bring an unhealthy lifestyle to the public. We do know that the behaviors of upper class dose great influence to the people in the society. Therefore as ordinaries seldom have a clear image of their appetency. What luxurious consumption contains is what people covet. So as to it, some very trendy and fashionable lifestyle in negative mood do harm to the public. Like the skinny trend among girls and prostitute obsession among boys. As the rich never fail to lose their interest on it, it is hard to stop the influence on the ordinary. What needs to be carried out is that a healthy and stylish lifestyle says Lohas (Lifestyles of health and sustainability) which is environmental friendly and in fashion. Also it tells your taste of life too!

The last but not the least point is that luxurious consumption widens the gap and misunderstanding between classes. Such is human nature that vanity and envy grow when something happen to be too good to be true when those thing are necessity to the rich. And that human made unfairness will just lead to a wider gap worsening the bridge between the rich and the poor. It is not to say luxury is for everyone, but it concerns when the disparity is so huge to an extent that becoming unbearable and incomprehensible. And that is apparently not good for the development of the society.

All in all we think luxurious Consumption should not be supported  

话说这社团生活可算是大学绝望生活中的一丝光明。在中大所谓的“百团大战”中有惊无险的进了FLA（外语协会）的Debating Team、《Rice》杂志社跟貌似亟待革新的摄影社。笔者虽然用旁人的话说是“巨能说”、“超厉害”，但甚少发起主动。所以在班里算是低调，省去不少凡尘杂事的侵扰。就如开学时所说，学生会、团委这些地方乃俗人龙盘虎踞之地，不宜踏足。既然是有明确目标的，毋用试探，直截了当地入侵，蚕食鲸吞地获取，足矣。就如LVMH注资时绝不手软，力求使旗下品牌做到世界第一罢了。恰好，Gareth Pugh这一新时代的Hedi Silman正是那位幸运儿。不论其设计的荒诞性，价格也是够荒诞的。虽说纯手工制造，直逼Haute Couture的价格还是叫人汗颜。去年一件回形针灵感的设计要价十一万英镑，恐怕只有艺术收藏家才有意向。

话说回来，加入社团若是抱着童稚般的愿望如见世面、交友与获得经验云云，免不得有些可怜。以上过程，在假期与高中时期早需完成。而现在，需要的是为新集体带来革新与变化。体现作为一个完整行为人的价值所在。这里不是指Phoebe Philo，而是Valentino的Maria Grazia Chiuri和Pier Paolo。Phoebe Philo跟Stella McCartney都好不到那里去，设计风格千篇一律，都快四十的人了还一个劲的装嫩。一个乡村少女，一个病态环保。顶多是个玩弄概念的好手，扎实的设计与创意甚少。反倒是Maria跟Pier把Valentino这一季弄出了些“此物只应天上有，人间难得几回尝”的华美设计。虽然设计层面涉及的Valentino经典元素不多，但精神上绝对是超越了Alessandra Facchinetti时期的Valentino，还原了Valentino Garavani本人信仰的“贵族先定论”论调。为经济危机下的公主们设计了一系列逃离战乱，回归家园的神奇装置。这些设计太美了，美得残忍。一泻而下的千丈皱褶、参差交错的透薄柔纱、扑朔奇幻的印花，无不如一股清泉浸润着干涸的Paris couturiers。

在FLA的辩论队中，个人较为牛逼的英语有了输出，无需在精神分裂胡言乱语。《Rice》更是一块福地，从未想过南蛮之地的文化荒漠中竟然有如此一片繁盛绿洲，看来这四年不会饥渴致死了。至于摄影协会，第一印象是缺乏高中摄影社的活力与气势，器材稍显落后，没发现一台苏哈。

大多数人似乎对于权力的渴望更甚，藐视生活趣味。笔者不接受“人各有志”的诡辩，纵观史上伟人，尤精神巨人为甚，纵使哲学观点互有攻守，生活与兴趣上总是相似的。人，作为一种被偶然创造的奇迹，很有必要把奇迹的可能性发挥至最大，无限趋近于无穷时，再大的差别也不值一提了。此过程绝不快乐、痛苦万分，但惟有此过程能褪去世俗的一切非人性的束缚。此时，人，才配得起着数十年的命。否则，存在不具有任何价值，更别提附庸于之的归属了。
