中国已经有多种可用的移动电视业务，包括基于蜂窝网络的中国移动GPRS业务和中国联通CDMA-1X业务，以及由Jolon广播公司在北京地区部署的基于韩国地面数字多媒体广播(T-DMB)标准的广播业务。还有许多其它地面广播标准角逐于中国市场，最终会形成怎样的局面现在还很难判断。像T-DMB和DVB-H等技术现在已经很成熟，并且在全球各地得到了广泛关注，而尚未完全成熟的中国标准，如T-MMB、STiMi(CMMB)、DMB-T/H，也开始得到了中国国家无线影视管理局(SARFT)和信息产业部(MII)的支持和认可。

各种标准的背景情况

    1. T-DMB/   T-DMB移动电视标准源自欧洲数字音频广播(DAB)规范EUREKA-147。韩国和德国均开发了改良的商业化T-DMB标准。新标准沿用了DAB物理层，但增加了一个额外的纠错层，新增纠错层采用了具有卷积交织功能的Reed Solomon机制。音频/视频流被编码压缩成MPEG-2传输流。

    EUREKA-147规范设计初衷是为了实现可靠的移动接收，并采用DQPSK调制方式在1.536MHz信道带宽上承载音频、视频和数据业务。在T-DMB业务中，这一技术能够提供2-3个高质量信道，以及最高达每秒30帧的QVGA视频分辨率。视频采用H.264压缩编码，音频采用BSAC。DAB和T-DMB可以使用VHF频段III或L频段。全球很多地区都将这些频段分配给了DAB广播，并且在某些地区已经得到了广播许可，如中国已经开通DAB和T-DMB广播业务。

    全球第一个商用T-DMB业务是2005年12月在韩国开播的，作为免费业务很快得到了大众的认可和普及。在德国和英国等欧洲地区也部署了改版的T-DMB。另外，业界还在努力对DAB/T-DMB的IP版本(包括DAB-IP、EDG和DXB)作意义重大的标准化工作。

    中国的北京、广东和上海都已经开通T-DMB广播传送业务。北京于2005年9月份开始商用化非蜂窝接收业务，广东最近即将开播，接下来是上海。虽然北京和广东用的是频段III，但上海将采用L波段。这三个地方的广播都提供免费和付费电视(payTV)两种业务，而且每个地方都有自己独特的商业模式。

    2. DVB-H     由DVB联盟开发的数字视频广播手持标准于2004年11月正式被采纳为ETSI标准。该标准由DVB-T标准演变而来，为使之更适合移动设备接收，对DVB-T标准进行了许多修改。

    这些修改包括：
    1. 采用时间分片技术，以降低功耗；
    2. 为实现更可靠的移动接收，增加了采用多协议封装前向纠错(MPE-FEC)机制的链路层；
    3. 为得到发射器和移动性能间的最佳折衷，增加了4k载波模式；
    4. 为实现快速扫描、业务发现和蜂窝切换，对信令进行了修改。

    意大利于2006年6月率先开始部署商用化DVB-H业务，芬兰紧随其后，于2006年12月开通DVB-H业务。2007年将有许多全球性DVB-H业务部署计划，包括南非、美国和德国。虽然北京已经有少量的DVB-H试验，但Frontier Silicon公司认为DVB-H最近不会在中国获得商用化部署。

    3. DMB-T/H        DMB-T/H是北京清华大学和上海交通大学开发的新标准，该标准已得到SARFT批准。新标准融合了两所大学提出的两种方案——清华大学开发的时域同步正交频分复用(TDS-OFDM)和上海交大开发的高级数字电视地面广播(ADTB-T)。DMB-T的核心技术是TDS-OFDM调制技术，同时它还实现了基于LDPC的前向纠错(FEC)，并采用了针对不同业务的层次化调制架构。在物理层，它能：
    - 通过不同的调制星座实现多种比特速率(5-33Mbps)，从而提供非常灵活的信道编码速率；
    - 承载包括任何视频、音频和数据组合的MPEG-2传送数据流；
    - 将PN序列用作OFDM符号的保护间隔，以实现更快的同步(时域处理)，这对高传输速率的分组交换来说非常重要。WLAN系统中也采用了同样的这种办法。
    - 允许基于MPEG-2的IP组播和单播，从而形成了交互业务的基础。特别是在IPv6系统中，连接到网络的每个数字设备都能被赋于一个IP地址，因此DMB-T设备能够通过IP网络实现组播和单播。
    - 在高速移动状态(大于130公里/小时)中误码率低于1e-10

    STiMi是被SARFT认可的卫星广播电视技术。该业务准备利用卫星骨干网覆盖整个中国，盲区和室内接收等问题已经通过地面中继器得到有效解决。这种中继器可以采用T-MMB或T-DMB技术。

    与韩国(S-DMB)采用的基于CDMA技术的卫星系统不同，STiMi采用的是OFDM技术，信道带宽为25MHz。

列出了不同技术类别的移动电视标准。这些标准都有各自的优缺点，例如：
    1. 频谱的可用性限制了全球许多MDTV的推广。某些波段，譬如UHF(被DVB-H和FLO采用)在释放频谱方面的问题就比VHF和L频段(被T-DMB和T-MMB采用)多，这些问题显著地增加了广播商获取许可和组网的成本。
    2. 基于LDPC和Turbo的信道编解码能比老的RS编解码提供更好的误码率(和更好的接收质量)。
    3. 虽然最大吞吐量越高越好，但在接收器的设计中需要仔细斟酌以降低整机功耗。
    4. 使用更小带宽(如T-MMB和T-DMB使用1.7MHz)的标准显然会受更低吞吐量的限制，不过它们的信道变换次数更少，而这可以极大地改善最终用户的体验。

    Frontier Silicon公司认为，中国目前最具人气的主流技术是T-DMB、T-MMB、STiMi和DMB-T/H。虽然T-DMB在北京已经得到商用，并将在广东和上海开始商用，但从长远观点来看，中国移动广播电视将采用他们自己开发的解决方案。T-MMB已经在北京有了试点，STiMi将在2007年作少量的试验，2008年发射卫星。

    就像在T-DMB和DVB-H部署中那样，用于这些中国标准的接收机需要具有一定程度的可配置性，尤其是经过现场试验和试生产需要对技术进行改进时。一旦接收器投入使用肯定会遇到互操作性、一致性和优化等许多问题，并要求与广播电视头端设备保持最佳通信。因此，第一代接收机需要具有软件可配置功能，因为某些功能和特性需要灵活地通过固件升级来提高性能。

    不仅核心规范和实现方案有可能发生变化，付费电视的商业模式也要不断适应最终用户的习惯。作为这些付费电视模式基础的安全和条件接收技术也必须相应进行修改，有时需要非常接近商用网络的部署要求。此时，接收机同样需要灵活地适应这些变化的要求，不影响安全或上市时间。

小结      基于以上原因，Frontier Silicon公司认为，移动电视接收机需要足够灵活地适应标准的参数修改、实地性能和互操作性问题以及条件接收算法的更新。同时，接收机需要降低半导体芯片的成本和功耗，并提高接收灵敏度和抗干扰性能。在硬件加速和软件配置之间需要很好地加以协调。Frontier Silicon公司向市场推出了一款多标准接收器芯片组，采用软件定义架构。并提供一款接收芯片，它使手机制造商避免开发的产品要么支持“错误标准”，要么不能适应最后一刻的技术变化。当最终市场、规范或条件接收系统发生变化时，接收机可以通过简单的重配置适应这种变化。

ATLANTA — Allure Global Solutions Inc. has announced a partnership with Delphi Display Systems Inc. to deliver integrated outdoor digital menu boards and order confirmation displays for the restaurant industry.

Allure Global’s digital signage networks are designed to influence customer purchasing behavior and maximize restaurant revenues. Delphi Display Systems Inc. is a manufacturer of rugged, sunlight-readable LCD technology for outdoor use. One of its primary solutions includes drive-thru order confirmation systems (OCS), which it provides for nationwide chains such as McDonald’s, Jack-in-the-Box, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, KFC, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. The partnership with Allure Global will deliver integrated digital media content on Delphi Display Systems’ QSR solutions.

According to Delphi Display Systems, errors in the drive-thru can hurt profits and leave a bad impression with customers. Delphi Order Confirmation System Displays help customers confirm what they order and provide a running total of the order. From a restaurant perspective, this enables customers to know how much (more) they can spend. They are typically positioned near the menu board to be viewed as part of the ordering process. The Delphi OCS Display can also be used to display graphics of new or promoted items to customers positioned at the critical purchase point. LONDON — Multimedia systems designer and integrator Netpractise will be demonstrating its all-in-one digital signage solution Hydravision.tv AiO at the upcoming Screen Media Expo Europe. This solution allows any organization to quickly create and run its own unique on-screen digital channel for enhancing communications and delivering eye catching infotainment.

Hydravision.tv AiO is straight out of the box and ready to use. Supporting all Microsoft Windows media file formats, it allows organizations to create on-screen messages or play back Web based content. It can be operated as a stand-alone solution or can be networked and controlled remotely, and there is no limit to the number of players that can be connected. Hydravision is attracting a great deal of interest in the education sector.

Sydenham School in Southeast London has recently become one of the first educational establishments to install Hydravision.tv AiO, purchasing two systems for a total investment of £2,500. Sydenham School, which provides education to 1,500 students from 11 to 18 years old, adopted the Hydravision solution when it became clear that it needed to replace its existing, overly complex and unstable digital signage system.

The installation utilized two existing 42-inch LCD screens and a 50-inch plasma screen and involved configuring the media players with the school’s server. This was followed by a day’s training for two members of the technical team who are responsible for operating the channel.

Ken Devine, resources & IT manager at the school, installed the system in advance of the school’s £22 million upgrade, which is due to start later this year under the government’s Building Schools for the Future program.

The system is maintained by the school’s technical support team and Hydravision.tv AiO digital signage software allows authorized users to easily produce templates which divide the screen into multiple windows. This enables different content, such as news tickers and live TV to be displayed simultaneously and is ideal for large screens.

To date the system has been used to show a mixture of exam work, videos produced by students as part of their media studies coursework, sports day stills, school productions and artwork, as well as corporate messages, notifications and campaigns, but Devine believes that this is just the tip of the iceberg:

“Any digital signage system is only as good as the content it displays,” he said. “The fact that Hydravision.tv AiO can display PowerPoint presentations and PDFs without any need to reconfigure them means that anyone in the school - teachers, staff and pupils alike - can generate their own content which can be easily added to the seven day scheduler and screened.”
