Harmonious development between human and nature are nuclear contents of the ecological thought of ethics , and meanwhile it is the basic demand for structuring the harmonious Socialist society. And the idea of sustainable development is the important thought of promoting harmonious development between   human and nature. The Confucianists have always paid attention to the relation between human   and nature. Xunzi is one of the most distinguished Confucianists of the pre_Qin period. There will be significant enlightening value for us to criticize ,inherit ,comprehend , and use Xunzi’s ecological thought of   ethic in solving the ecological crisis.
   To m ake the thought s of“benevo lence”his basic,“loving all th ings”his rule, “a single body of heaven and earth and all th ings”h is realm —— the confuciu so make his ecological thoughts of philo sophy and rules of ethics. It has important modern values to carry fo rw ard the confuciu s’ ecological thoughts of philosophy for constructing a new ecological ethics.

     人与自然和谐发展是生态伦理思想的核心内容,也是构建社会主义和谐社会的基本要求,而可持续发展理念是促进人与自然和谐发展的重要思想内涵。儒家历来重视人与自然的关系问题,荀子也专门写了《天人论》,其中蕴含了“天、地、人相参”等生态伦理意识,对我国实施可持续发展战略具有重要的现实参考价值和现代文化转生意义。
     儒家以“仁爱”思想为基础, 以“爱物”为原则, 以“天地万物一体”为境界, 形成了自己的生态哲学思想和生态伦理原则。发掘和弘扬儒家的生态哲学思想, 对于建构新的生态伦理学具有重要的现代价值。
