A revised version of the text (可依照此思路改写所有课文,尽量不用直接引语) Last week I went to watch a play but failed to have a wonderful time there. Although I had a good seat, I couldn’t enjoy the interesting play because the young couple sitting behind me were talking noisily. I got a little bit annoyed as their noise was so loud that I couldn’t hear a single word from the actors. At first I just turned around and glared at them (hoping that they might stop talking). To my dismay, they just ignored and talked on. / To my dismay, they took no notice of my anger and went on talking. At last I couldn’t bear/ tolerate / put up with it any more. Again, I turned around, looking at them angrily and saying “I can’t hear a word”. What surprise me most was that the young man, who obviously misunderstood me, said that it was none of my business because that was a private conversation. What a bad experience! |
