        西条八十(1892—1970)是上一世纪三十年代前后日本诗坛的象征主义诗人，曾与日夏耿之介、 原朔太朗、佐藤春夫等组成大正诗坛上的艺术诗派。但是与其他几位不同的是其诗风多幻想、空想、明快、华丽，并无一般象征诗的幽暗。诗人。1915年毕业于早稻田大学英文科，1931年至1934年任早稻田大学法文科教授。1919年出版第一部诗集《砂金集》，后又出版了译诗集《白孔雀》(1920)，诗集《蜡人形》(1922)、《一把玻璃》(1947)。他曾与日夏耿之介、萩原朔太朗、佐藤春夫等组成大正诗坛上的艺术诗派。其诗风受象征主义的影响，但其风格又与象征主义诗人不同。他的诗多幻想、空想、明快、华丽、无象征诗的幽暗。
